- Eligibility
- Hirers must be 18 years or older to hire a bike. Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will agree on their behalf. The minimum age for participation is 10 years old.
- Valid photo ID must be presented at the time of hire. ID will be kept until hire equipment is returned and checked over.
- All riders must have a suitable level of fitness and experience to participate in mountain biking.
- Booking and Payment
- Full payment is required at the time of booking or collection.
- All prices include VAT where applicable.
- Hire Period
- Bikes are hired for the agreed period only and must be returned by the stated time.
- Hire equipment must be collected between 08:30 and 9:30. Late collections will have to wait until a qualified member of staff is available.
- All bikes and equipment must be returned by 16:30 on the last day of hire.
- Late returns may incur additional charges.
- Early returns are not eligible for refunds unless agreed at the discretion of management.
- Security Deposit
- A security deposit may be required at the time of hire. This can be held on a credit/debit card and is refundable upon safe return of the bike and equipment, subject to inspection.
- Bike Condition & Use
- All bikes are inspected before hire. The Hirer must also check the bike and notify staff of any pre-existing damage before use.
- Bikes must only be used on designated trails or routes appropriate for downhill bikes.
- Hirers must not attempt any repairs or modifications. Any issues must be reported to staff immediately.
- Helmets are mandatory at all times when using the bike. Additional protective equipment (e.g. body armour, pads) is strongly recommended.
- Damage, Loss & Liability
- The Hirer is responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the bike or equipment during the hire period.
- A charge will be applied for any repairs or replacement parts required as a result of damage or neglect.
- Bikes must not be left unattended or unsecured at any time.
- Insurance
- Bike hire does not include insurance. Hirers are strongly advised to have appropriate personal accident or travel insurance that covers mountain biking.
- The resort/company accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from the use of the bike.
- Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made between 24 and 72 hours before the hire will be subject to a 20% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the hire are non-refundable, unless due to exceptional circumstances at management’s discretion.
- If hire is cancelled due to poor weather or trail closures, a refund or credit may be offered.
- Termination
- The resort/company reserves the right to refuse hire or terminate the hire at any time if the Hirer is found to be riding recklessly, under the influence of alcohol/drugs, or breaching these terms.
- Acceptance of Risk
- Downhill mountain biking is an inherently dangerous activity. By hiring a bike, the Hirer acknowledges and accepts the risks involved, including the risk of serious injury or death.
